Pokemon GO Book Tag

So if you know me, you'll know how much I adore Pokemon. (Not really a fan of Pokemon GO, I much prefer the DS games but this tag is bloody awesome so I have to do it!) I got this tag from readatmidnight, who made it. Let's get started!

When I was a child, I would read anything my mum gave me but when I was old enough to buy books for myself, I had an unhealthy obsession with horror/thriller books so I couldn't choose just one book that started my love for reading, for me it was a series and that series was Goosebumps by R. L Stine. I still read them now from time to time because they are incredible.

PS. My starter Pokemon is always Bulbasaur. #001 Pokemon and always my number one.
This is so easy for me. It's Dracula by Bram Stoker. It is a timeless classic and I have the book in about 10 variations. And all the film versions. And TV versions. Considering it was written in 1897, it's not a difficult read and is just a simply brilliant book.
I hate to say this because it was honestly one of my favourite books ever. It's The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It got to a point where every time I saw it, I'd just be like "ughhh, not again". It's a shame because it's a great series but because it was everywhere all the time, it took me months to finish the films. (I finished the books before the first film was released).
It has to be Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher. Yes, it's so cliché. A movie star falling in love with a regular girl but it is one of my favourite books ever. That's the sign of a good author, in my opinion.
I feel bad even typing this because Cassandra Clare is one of my favourite authors of all time (she's in the top 3!) but I just can't bring myself to read it. It's Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare. It's so frustrating because I really want to read it but I pick it up and I'm just like "ehhh I'm not ready for 700 pages of this". I am a bad person.

Oh wow. This could be anything but it has to be The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon. When I first got it, I knew I'd finish it quickly because of how much I loved the first book in the series but I remember staying up ridiculously late on it's release date just to finish it. God, I bloody love that series.

This is easy. Warden and Paige from Samantha Shannon's The Bone Season series. Never have I shipped a pair so hard. They are the perfect couple.
I read a lot of books like this but my most recent one that I managed to finish in just under 4 hours (and will be a review posted very soon) was Caraval by Stephanie Garber. That book honestly blew me away. Never has the phrase: "I couldn't put it down" been more apt.
SHADOWHUNTERS. (Bit cheeky because I haven't read Lady Midnight yet but ahh well). I have read every other Shadowhunter related book because it's a world I just love to immerse myself in and it doesn't matter how many spin-offs she does with the characters or the world...I'm game.
For me, it was The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan. I hadn't heard much about it, apart from the fact it was about Egypt and I'm a huge fan of Egypt. I wasn't expecting much and wasn't expecting it to include so many Gods and Goddesses but I was pleasantly surprised and they are by far my favourite Rick Riordan books but they are so under-rated.

It has to be The Shades of Magic series by V. E. Schwab. Before YALC 2016, I'd never heard of her (embarassingly). She was so popular there that I had to buy the books...and I'm still yet to read them (I'm about halfway through the first yet) but they seem amazing!
I feel like Lady Midnight is a book that has cropped up a lot in this tag, which is pretty funny seeing as I've not read it yet but there was a stunning collector's edition released at Waterstones and I still want it so bad. It is so beautiful.
Frostblood by Elly Blake which is sort of cheating because I have already read it but it's not out until January 12th 2017 so I can get away with it, right? That book blew my mind, it's incredible!
I can't just say one. Can I say two? Samantha Shannon and Cassandra Clare. No matter what it is, if they have helped write it, I need it.

The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon. It has only been just over a year and a half since the last book but when you're as excited as I am, it feels like an eternity. As a Bone Season Advocate, I should be getting a proof of The Song Rising within the next few weeks and it's not out until March 2017 so I am so excited!

I loved doing this. Have you read any of these books? Let me know!

  1. In the past, I really like Pokemon just like you, there's a game called Pokemon Go, I think you know it because it's quite famous. I liked playing this game before, but now I have switched to 918kiss Malaysia, because I got bored with Pokemon Go and it affected my time quite a lot.
