Hosting a #MKBParty

So a while ago I signed up as a host for #MKBParty, honestly thinking I had no chance of being picked so when I was shortlisted, I was over the moon and got planning right away. If you know me, you'll know my passion for books and spreading the word about great books and considering I'd already read 2 of the books involved in the #MKBParty multiple times, I was so excited. (I know, I hadn't read The Lie Tree at this point, naughty me).

When I was sent the parcel from #MKBParty, I was absolutely overwhelmed, I thought it would just be the books and a few posters to make the place look like a party but the parcel was filled with goodies and it got me even more excited. So for the party yesterday, I arranged a "help yourself" table for my lovely guests.

It went down a treat and I was left with one of everything (for myself) which may mean a giveaway of some of the goodies coming very soon...

Everyone loved the bookish goodies so much. We had fun colouring the Rainbow Rowell colouring sheets and doodling in our Significant Life Events notebooks (I absolutely adored this and as a huge fan of Beautiful Broken Things, I was thrilled to have one!)

On to the most important part of the night: the books. We sat down with some mugs of hot chocolate and got chatting! Most of you will know what a huge fan I am of the Zoella Book Club so the night was focused mainly on Beautiful Broken Things and Fangirl because I know these books back to front and had a few copies of each that we could all pass around. We watched my review videos of Beautiful Broken Things and Fangirl to give us a quick reminder, then got talking. What I love about books is that everyone interprets them differently and takes away different things from them; that for me is the power of books.

Some of our favourite quotes:

“I don’t trust anybody. Not anybody. And the more that I care about someone, the more sure I am they’re going to get tired of me and take off.”  - Fangirl
"I'd rather be broken than wasted". - Fangirl
"But people we love come and go, Caddy. That doesn’t mean we loved them any less at the time.” - Beautiful Broken Things

There are so many inspirational quotes in these books and I adore every single one of them so make sure you pick up a copy. We had such a giggle and bonding over books is probably the best thing you can do.

Special thank you to my hubby for getting involved and helping and an even bigger thank you to #MKBParty and ComeRound for giving me the chance to host such an amazing party.
