13 Reasons Why I Want To...

“Hello, boys and girls. Hannah Baker here. Live and in stereo. No return engagements. No encore. And this time, absolutely no requests. I hope you’re ready, because I’m about to tell you the story of my life. More specifically, why my life ended. And if you’re listening to these tapes, you’re one of the reasons why.

So, if you've been on social media at all recently, you will have seen at least one thing about the book/Netflix TV series, 13 Reasons Why. It seems to have taken the world by storm and everyone is talking about it, whether they love the series or not. If you don't know, the general idea of the story-line is a teenager called Hannah commits suicide and leaves tapes behind with 13 reasons why she killed herself. I wanted to make this into something positive and want to start a tag of 13 reasons why you want to live, why you're grateful for living, what you love about life etc. It can be anything. My 13 are all going to be people but it can be anything; objects, animals, celebrities, your blog, social media, anything. (I also made graphics, very bad ones at that). It can be as serious or as fun and light-hearted as you want, as long or as short as you want, but the main thing, is to spread love and positivity!

Hello Simon, welcome to your tape. We have been best friends for about 8 years now. We have so much in common, I probably have the most in common with you out of all of my friends. We like the same films, the same books, we both love horror, we both love Disney, we both go to the same conventions; we're just pretty similar. What I've always loved about you is that our friendship is fun and has been since the day we met, so thank you.

Hello Dan (K), welcome to your tape. Again, we have been best friends for about 8 years. The memories I have with you are some of the greatest. Getting lost up London meeting Karl Pilkington, watching the weirdest (and slightly inappropriate) films and playing that motorbike game on my bed for hours, to name a few. We could sit on my bed for hours and not say a word and I'd still have the best day, simply because we were together, so thank you.

Hello Dan (L), welcome to your tape. We have been best friends for about 9 years and you will always have a special place in my heart (even if it's your fault I failed History, not all of us can be good without studying, ya know đŸ˜‰). There was a year or two where I was struggling so much and everyday you would come over to my house and we'd sit out front for however long I needed, talking. You have helped me through so much and continue to do so, so thank you.

Hello Carla, welcome to your tape. God, we've been best friends for so long, I don't even want to put a time scale on it. I have watched you grow into a gorgeous, successful woman and you've helped me do the same (maybe calling myself gorgeous is a little big-headed ha). You have been my shoulder to cry on, my personal diary to rant to, my friend to lean on and the person to make me laugh like no one else can for as long as I can remember, so thank you.

Hello Lucy, welcome to your tape. We met on Twitter about 5 years ago. Yes, it was really that long ago. The memories I have with you are the most carefree, relaxed memories I could ever ask for. From meeting our favourite author, to sitting watching Shadowhunters whilst eating afternoon tea, to you watching me get married. When I need you, even though you live hours away, you drop everything and come instantly, so thank you.

Hello Rory, welcome to your tape. My gorgeous little nephew, you'll probably never read this but you little man, are able to make me smile on the hardest of days. I'm proud to be your auntie because you are growing into such a clever, gorgeous (sometimes naughty) bubba. Even though at the moment you seem to enjoy throwing things at me and telling me to shut up, it always ends with a cuddle that makes my heart melt, so thank you.

Hello Emily, welcome to your tape. My beautiful niece, my mini-me. You are more like the little sister I never had than my niece. I have the fiercest protection over you because you're growing up now and I want you to stay in your little bubble of being a child forever. When you see me and climb onto my lap and I say, "guess what?" and you say, "you love me", nothing makes me happier, knowing that you know that I love you with all my heart and always will, so thank you.

Hello Abby, welcome to your tape. My big sister. Not just my big sister but also my best friend (and sometimes your third child). Every single moment in my life, you've been there. When other friends and family members have gone, we've stayed together; always living 5 minutes away from each other because honestly, I couldn't have it any other way. If I've asked for anything, big or small, you've done it without a second thought and you've given me the chance to be an auntie, a title that I didn't know would change my life in such an amazing way, so thank you.

Hello Ed, welcome to your tape. My fairy godmother. Using your wand to make my life as magic as possible. There are so many places I wouldn't have been too, sights I wouldn't have seen, shows I wouldn't have attended, experiences I wouldn't have felt, if it wasn't for you. You have always made the impossible, possible for me and most importantly, you give me hope when I need it the most. I am so thankful and grateful that you've been in my life since the beginning and I know you'll be here until the end.

Hello Andy, welcome to your tape. My "official" step-dad of 2 months. My "unofficial" step-dad of 1 year, 4 months. My dad in my heart, forever. When you came into my life, I never imagined I'd love you the way that I do now. You have not only taken me as a daughter but you have made my mum happier than I've ever seen her. My life was turned upside-down when mum moved away to live with you and I tried to hate you but how can you hate someone who is trying so hard and you have so much in common with? You haven't been in my life for long, but you've been there for me every step of the way so far, so thank you.

Hello Hayden, welcome to your tape. Tape 11. My lucky number. You are the love of my life, my soulmate, my best friend, my rock but my favourite title of all, my husband. I never imagined when we met 5 years ago on Twitter that you'd be the man I married. You lived 6 hours away on a train, a trip that we ended up doing every weekend to see each other. You have given me a life I never thought I'd have with anyone. Nothing makes me prouder than calling myself your wife and I know you are there for me, for now and for always, so thank you.

Hello Mum, welcome to your tape. I don't even know where to begin with this one. You have made me into the woman I am today. You have made me confident, strong, independent, loving, kind, caring and a good person; all things that I have learnt from you. You have always pushed me to be the best I can be and showed me that anything is possible if you put your mind to it, even if you have to wait until you're 52 to get it. (I'm talking about Mr Perfect there). You have given me such high expectations of what a mum should be, little did I know when I was younger that you were a wonder mum and not many mums loved their children the way you loved us. If I'm half the woman you are, I'm happy, so thank you.

Welcome to your tape reader. Yes, that's right, you. Every person that reads my blogs, watches my videos, leaves a comment, sends me a message, you are all incredible and I'm so thankful to each and every one of you who have joined me on my journey. Whether it be my journey as a blogger, a YouTuber, a chronic illness sufferer, I love you all and am so grateful for all of your support, so thank you.

If you take part in this tag, either leave a link below in the comments or contact me via social media because I'd love to read them all and I'll add some of my favourites in this blog post! What 13 things are you thankful for? (I did want to put Matthew Daddario but thought I'd better not đŸ˜‰)
