James Corden – Christmas Karaoke, hello! Love James Corden, he seems to be genuinely nice and fun and with him Christmas sure would never get dull. If there was even the slightest risk that anyone was getting bored, he’d just spice it up with a little game of “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts”.
Malala Yousafzai – Would be so amazing to get to meet and talk to one of the bravest persons on this earth. I’d like to hear more about her life and plans onwards and what can be done to improve the situation for girls. Not the least in the wake of #metoo and everything.
Princess Diana – Would love to hear all royal gossip, what really happened at the night of her death and to discuss the plot for my next book in the Angelheart Saga series with her. I believe she was a truly romantic person and with her royal insights, I’m sure she would have fantastic ideas for plot twists!
Kit Harington – What can I say, you need some eye candy for Christmas… Rumour also has it that he writes poetry, who wouldn’t love to have Kit recite poetry to you for Christmas?
4 Books you want under your tree this Christmas:
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis – The film/series was shown on Swedish TV during Christmas when I was a kid, why I think of these as Christmas books. I loved the books so much when I was a pre-teen, would love to re-read them now, sure I will love them still.
The Twilight Before Christmas by Kate Drake – Don’t know much about this book, just loved the title and that it’s a book about seven sisters gifted with amazing powers of witchcraft, who return home for Christmas and catch the spirit of the season and decide to open up a bookstore. But when an earthquake reveals a burial crypt, they have to battle the darkness threatening to destroy both Christmas and the passionate love story between one of the sisters and a hometown hero. Witches and passionate love and season’s spirit, what could be more perfect as a Christmas read?
The Smoke Thieves by Sally Green – Just found out that a new Sally Green book will be published in May 2018. I loved her Half Bad series to pieces, it was so magical, unique and tragically marvellous, that I’m dying to read more of her books. May 2018 feels like ages away, so it would definitely be the perfect Christmas gift to get a copy of it in advance!
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens – This is embarrassing, but I have not read this one… so it’s definitely about time I read this classic.
3 Christmas foods:
Butterscotch candy – Or actually all candy… Christmas for me is candy, candy, candy… and some chocolate!
My grandmother’s gravlax – This is a Scandinavian kind of salmon sashimi with dill and sugar, which I guess anyone outside Scandinavia would find rather disgusting, but it just wouldn’t be Christmas for me without and my grandmother’s special mustard sauce.
Walnuts – I love to crack and shell walnuts, the sound and the shell pieces everywhere always gives me such Christmas feeling. I’m not that much into eating them, it’s more the thing about using the nut cracker, I think…
2 Christmas films you couldn't live without:
Love, Actually - I know a lot of people find it cringy, but I’m a romance sucker and for me it just wouldn’t be Christmas without this movie. The scene when Keira Knightley ’s Juliet asks to see her wedding video and Andrew Lincoln’s Mark’s reaction and then of course the scene with the Christmas carols and Mark holding up signs on Juliet’s doorstep saying “To me you are perfect.” Can’t help it, just love it. Makes me cry every time…
Ivanhoe - This is not a Christmas film, I know, but in Sweden it has been on TV every Christmas since 1982 (yes that’s right EVERY CHRISTMAS SINCE 1982!). So I simply can’t imagine Christmas without it.
