Guest Post: An Introduction to The Bone Season (+ Giveaway) by Samantha Shannon

Hi everyone! Samantha Shannon here. If you haven’t discovered my series yet, let me tell you a little bit about it . . .

THE BONE SEASON is the first installment in a seven-book series of dystopian urban fantasy novels. Beginning in the year 2059, the story follows Paige Mahoney, a nineteen-year-old Irish clairvoyant working in the criminal underworld of London. Paige is a dreamwalker, an especially rare kind of clairvoyant, who can walk in people’s minds and see their innermost selves. Along with eight other countries, the Britain she lives in is under the control of the Republic of Scion, which persecutes and executes clairvoyants for their abilities.

Everything changes for Paige when an accident on the Underground leads to her arrest.  She soon discovers a secret at the heart of Scion – a secret that will rock the foundations of her world . . .
Currently the first three books in the series have been published by Bloomsbury: THE BONE SEASON, THE MIME ORDER and THE SONG RISING. Welcome to Scion. No safer place.

I thought I'd tell you my introduction to The Bone Season series too. It was August 2013 and I'd just started entering competition's online. One of the first competitions I ever won was a signed first edition copy of TBS. Little did I know how much this book series would change my life. It not only sparked my love of YA books, it also sparked an idea: the idea of blogging.

Read the last sentence from Samantha's introduction. Yes, that is how I chose my blog name. I'm not sure many of you know that but yes, my blog name is taken from my favourite series of all time: The Bone Season. The books mean the world to me and that is why today, Samantha and I are offering you the chance to read them.

Samantha has kindly donated dedicated, signed copies of The Bone Season and The Mime Order!
If you'd like to win this incredible prize, please comment on this post as to why you think you'd enjoy this series.

I've heard so many amazing things about Samantha Shannon's books. I'd love to win a copy of The Bone Season because fantasy is my all time favourite book genre, and this story sounds amazing. It's been on my TBR list for such a long time now, too (I think it's fifth on the list out of seventy-five haha). xxx

  12. I would absolutely love to start reading the series because I am actually Irish and it's so rare to find a YA novel that focuses on an Irish main character. And because the plot just sounds so interesting.
